Sometimes, the best stories begin with a twist of fate. It was May of 2021, when Jamie's close friend surprised her with a spontaneous plane ticket—which put her on the next flight to Seattle.

That’s where they met, masks still on (thanks, 2021), and something shifted. The conversation? effortless and electric. Politics, religion, wild theories, the mysteries of the universe. Time seemed to slip away. What should have been an hour-long date turned into three days of long talks and exploring the city.

Jamie boarded a plane back east, leaving behind 2,800 miles between them and a connection neither could quite explain. Over the year they stayed connected, bridging the time zones with the occasional long phone call that stretched into the night. They tossed around ideas of meeting again, laughing about how the stars would need to align just right. But life has a way of doing its own thing.

Until fate stepped in again and brought Zack to Brooklyn. By July 4th, 2022— there they were, this time in NYC. The weekend was a blur of Broadway, the mets, dancing with friends, and fireworks. And as they sat on a Brooklyn rooftop, watching the sky light up in color, something clicked. Whatever this was, it was going to be interesting.

A couple of years, countless flights, and endless adventures later, the future started to come into focus. On a chilly March night in 2024, Zack brought Jamie to her favorite spot—the place with the best view of the skyline, as she calls it.—and there, with the city as their witness, he got down on one knee. No fireworks, but the air was still electric. It marked the start of a new chapter, woven together by the same twist of fate that had first drawn them together. From Seattle to New York to Florida and now Georgia, their journey has been anything but ordinary—and they wouldn’t have it any other way.
